Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FindStar LLC ("FindStar", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit findstar.io, join our waitlist, or use the FindStar interview intelligence platform at app.findstar.io, including our MCP server (together, the "Service").
1. Who we are
FindStar LLC is a company based in Miami, Florida, USA. If you have questions about this policy or your personal information, email us at [email protected].
2. Our role
- Website, waitlist and customer accounts. FindStar is the controller of personal information about website visitors, waitlist subscribers and the people who use FindStar on behalf of our customers.
- Candidate data. When a company (a "Customer") uses FindStar to screen and interview candidates, the Customer decides what candidate data is collected and why. The Customer is the controller of that data. FindStar processes it on the Customer's behalf and under its instructions, as a processor (or "service provider" under US state privacy laws).
If you are a candidate, the company you applied to is responsible for your data and is your first point of contact. If you contact us instead, we will forward your request to that company and help it respond.
3. Information we collect
Website visitors and waitlist subscribers
- Waitlist. Your email address when you join the waitlist.
- Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the website is used. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not track you across websites. It gives us aggregated data such as pages visited, referrers, browser, device type and country.
- Technical data. Our servers and hosting providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and request time to deliver the website and keep it secure.
- Messages. Your email address and the content of your message when you write to us.
Customer users
Recruiters, hiring managers and interviewers who use FindStar on behalf of a Customer:
- Account information: name, work email, company, role and sign-in details.
- Content you add: vacancies, interview plans and questions, notes and settings.
- Usage information: actions in the Service, device and browser information, and log data.
Candidates (processed on behalf of Customers)
- CVs and profiles: name, contact details, work history, education, skills and other information in the CV or added by the Customer.
- Interview data: interview audio, processed in real time to produce a live transcript; video and audio recordings when the Customer turns recording on; and interview transcripts.
- AI assessments: grades for individual answers, interview scores, summaries, strengths and weaknesses.
- Scheduling data: interview times and participants.
FindStar is not designed to collect special categories of data, such as health, religion or ethnic origin. Customers should not ask candidates for this information unless the law allows it.
4. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service, including CV screening, live interview assistance, transcription and AI-assisted evaluation.
- To manage the waitlist and email you about your access and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To send service messages, such as interview invitations and scheduling updates on behalf of Customers, and account and security notices.
- To provide support and respond to requests.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- To understand and improve the website and the Service using aggregated and usage information.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and communicate with business contacts), your consent (where we ask for it) and legal obligations. For candidate data, the Customer determines the legal basis.
5. AI processing
FindStar uses AI models to transcribe interviews, grade answers against the interview plan, suggest follow-up questions, and produce summaries and scores.
- No training on your data. We do not use Customer data or candidate data to train AI models, and we only send it to AI providers that do not use it for training.
- People make the decisions. AI outputs support interviewers and can be inaccurate; transcripts may contain speech recognition errors. FindStar does not make hiring decisions. The Customer's team reviews the results and decides.
6. How we share information
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit how they use the data: cloud hosting and storage, video infrastructure, speech-to-text and AI model providers, email delivery and website analytics. A current list is available on request.
- Customers. Candidate data and AI assessments are available to the Customer that collected them and the users it authorizes.
- AI assistants you connect. If a Customer user connects FindStar to an AI assistant (such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini) through our MCP server, that assistant can access the user's FindStar account data. The assistant's provider processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Legal and safety reasons. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or FindStar.
- Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
7. How long we keep information
- Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your email.
- Account and Customer data, including candidate data: while the Customer's account is active or until the Customer deletes it. Customers can ask us to delete specific candidate data at any time. After an account is closed, we delete or anonymize its data within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep some of it longer.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
9. International transfers
FindStar is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the US, the European Union and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, the UK, California and other US states, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Candidates should contact the company they applied to first (see Our role).
11. Cookies
The findstar.io website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookieless. The FindStar app uses cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for sign-in, security and keeping you logged in.
12. Children
The Service is built for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will also notify Customers by email or in the Service.
